Hey, I´m Alex. I grew up in the countryside of Germany where I had the opportunity to live my childhood to the fullest extent- from downhill-cycling in the woods over swimming, skateboarding and gliding up to skiing and snowboarding in the mountains. For this reason, my life was accompanied by action sport on nearly every element, which surely had a huge impact on my passion for nature. When I was 17, I discovered my fascination for surfing and for waves in general. This passion has continued to this day and I can look back on almost a decade within the surf scene, especially big wave surfing, in which I was lucky enough to accompany one of the best athletes on their career path. Being out in nature in the roughest and challenging conditions to capture the beauty of the raw is still one of my greatest pleasures and I keep on pushing my limits with every project I make.
What started as amateur-videos in my teenage years throughout snowboard sessions, ended up in studying movie and television, specialized in cinematography, in Berlin at the age of 21. Within my work, my passion for movement, growth, extreme emotions, action sports, landscapes, cultures, things and people of all shapes and colors, forces of nature in short everything that makes us alive- constantly displays and reflects the polarities of our world. Production-wise, a good team and a great idea are key. Nevertheless, filming is an organic process, where the script, if there is one at all, should be flexible enough to develop constantly. By saying this I mean that spontaneity always leads to a certain kind of authenticity. People change once there is a camera around- which can be toxic for a project, but if there are trust and a good atmosphere, it will produce looseness and therefore, can create some breathtaking in between shots. And that is exactly what I´m hunting for.
Good cinema for me is where the beauty lies in detail and to detect details one must watch.

World Surf League Big Wave Contest
What a pleasure it was to be part of the first Tow-In Contest at the most famos Big-Wave Arena in the world. Following Lucas Chumbo and Kai Lenny during there amazing run, winning in every category was really something special!

To optimize the the information flow between patients and doctors before a major surgery, we at Young Shoot Prod. In collaboration with the St. Josefs Hospital Wiesbaden went new ways to create a high quality video with all the informations a patient needs to inform himself about the upcoming surgery.
FrontRunner Image-Film
This summer I had the opportunity to film an image-video for FrontRunner, an American roof-tent company, in the Italian Alps. It was a great time shooting the project with some memorable sunsets in the mountains. I’m very happy withh the outcome and can not wait for the next project.
